9/23/2011- Students create a 1/2 page typed description of military technology used during the Civil War. Use the information that you saw in the short video shown today in class if that is not enough information be resourceful and go online and find out more. 10/10/11 Class your homework for tonight is to email me your personal definition of reconstruction. In the subject bar of your email please use this heading ( period # advanced us history reconstruction) due by 7:45 on 10/11/11
10/13/11 class using your new g mail account go into documents and under public templates find the scrapbook template. Using this template create your own 20 picture scrapbook titled "the faces of Reconstruction" each picture should also have a caption along with it stating what we are seeing temperarily save the scrapbook on your google account. Try to find photos from the North and the South if possible. I will explain more in class as to the specifics of the assignment. I would like you to get started creating this soon and playing around with the features on the scrapbook template. The scrapbook will be due Monday october 24th

You will then use the timetoast.com website to create a virtual interactive timeline about the history of the state that you chose in class. You will need to create an account on timetoast.com and confirm it on your email. after doing this you will create a 15 date time line with images and information for each date. After completing the timeline you will then place a hyperlink to it on your class' project page and in the column that is established for this assignment and in your row. The project completion date is 11-18-2011. It will not be graded unless it is linked on the wiki. Have fun be creative.
1-5-12 WWI Battle Projects
Students please go to the page that is set up for your class's notes. You need to indicate which battle you intend to research and produce your project on. Remember that the project topics are first come first serve in nature and you may not have the same topic as anyone else. You may begin posting topics at 9:00pm 1/5/12 you must have a topic indicated on the wikipage by 1/6/12 by Midnight. You have three choices for project type. You may either create a virtual timeline using timetoast.com, a virtual scrapbook or powerpoint presentation both of which may be accessed through Googledocs. Criteria for each will be discussed in class. Each of you must then submit your final completed project on the appropriate location on the wiki projects page by 11:59.59 on 1-13-12. 2/16/12 Immigration Interview
Students please find an individual who has moved to our area from somewhere else. create some questions to ask them that will allow you to determine the push and pull factors that allowed them to move here. Ask a minimum of five questions but feel free to ask as many as you wish. Take notes on the interview and compile them into a transcript. You will then turn the notes in on 2/27/12 along with a single powerpoint slide with your name and immigration interview on it. Then add audio to the powerpoint slide which will include your analysis of the interview. The audio presentation should be between 2 and 5 minutes. The powerpoint slide should be uploaded to the wiki by 2/27/12 at 11:59. Have fun!
